Mental Health Clinics MN
Regions Hospital is the largest provider of inpatient mental health services in the Twin Cities east metro. We treat people of all ages and backgrounds. Depending on your need, we’ll recommend inpatient or outpatient care.
About one-third of people who come to our Emergency Center for help with mental health or substance abuse are admitted to the hospital. Others go to outpatient programs and services. If you are referred to us by your primary care physician, we will partner with you, your family and your doctor to plan your treatment.
The future of mental health care looks even brighter at Regions. Our state-of-the-art building is the only mental health facility in the Twin Cities with private-only rooms. Learn more about our mental health facility.
Inpatient mental health services are provided at Regions Hospital where your care is coordinated by a team of psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists and social workers.
Our Crisis Program staff does emergency evaluations at the Regions Hospital Emergency Center.
You’ll find outpatient assessment services at several offices in the metro area. Our professional staff is highly skilled in caring for adults, adolescents and children, and is dedicated to helping you feel better.
Your first appointment
On your first visit, you’ll spend about one hour with a mental health professional and talk about what’s troubling you. Then your counselor will make an assessment and recommend treatment. To schedule your first appointment, please call 952-967-7992. Follow-up appointments are scheduled at the clinic where you receive treatment. If you need to cancel an appointment, please notify the clinic as soon as possible.
Fees & financial responsibility
Your fee will depend on the type of service you receive and the type of caregiver you see. Feel free to ask for a list of our fees. Our services are covered under most insurance and healthcare plans. If your healthcare plan contracts with Regions Hospital, you may have a copay due at the time of each visit. Health insurance plans pay fees on case rates, discounted fee schedules or percentages of charges, depending upon the specific plan. Remember that some plans limit the number of sessions covered and may require prior authorization for treatment. Insurance benefits generally cover charges for medically necessary treatment only. Please check your policy or call your health plan if you have questions.
Your psychiatrist may write prescriptions at the time of your appointment. If you need a refill between appointments, please call your pharmacy directly. The pharmacist will call us for approval. Please allow at least two days for this process.
